Carl Schmitt is an associate partner in the executive compensation consulting practice at Radford, advising boards of directors and management teams on equity and cash compensation for executives, key employees, and outside directors. He has extensive experience with all aspects of stock and cash incentives, including finance, accounting and legal issues, and alternative treatments in corporate transactions and other challenging situations.
Carl has more than 25 years of experience consulting for clients in a variety of industries, with a focus on high technology and life sciences firms. His consulting experience ranges from large public corporations to small private and pre-IPO businesses, with a specialty in growth and corporate transitions. He also consults to global companies and general industry clients on competing for talent in the high-tech and biotech spaces.
Prior to joining Radford, Carl was a senior consultant at Willis Towers Watson. Previously, he worked at other leading compensation consulting firms, including Mellon Human Resources & Investor Solutions, WestWard Pay Strategies, and others.
Carl serves as a frequent speaker and panelist on executive compensation, equity compensation and corporate governance issues. He earned a B.A. degree in psychology from Pomona College. Additionally, he is on the faculty of WorldatWork, where he has taught Principles of Executive Rewards, Determining Pay for Executives, and Advanced Concepts in Executive Compensation.
